Completed in 2008, Beijing South Railway Station was the first large and comprehensive station to accommodate the modern high-speed railway network. It is well designed to serve the train lines of Beijing – Tianjin, Beijing – Shanghai with a good connection of local trains, long-distance and city buses as well as the city's underground railway. The station provides generous space for waiting and arriving passengers, help center for handicapped and pregnant women, array of shops and eateries. 


The main building, inspired by design of the Temple of Heaven, is a harmonious combination of tradition and modernity. There are total of 5 floors with two above the ground and three in the basement.

Travel Tips


  1. Passenger arrival is at the basement 1, the transit center, where you can find local bus and taxi.

  2. The station has caring service for handicapped, aged and pregnant, including check-in guidance,

  3. wheelchair transfers, and dealing with some injury and emergency situation.

  4. Signs and announcements are all given both in English and Chinese. 

  5. Staff at information desk can speak good English. 

  6. Mobile Phone Charger, luggage storage service, business class lounge and hot water are available at arrival and departure hall.



How to Get to Beijing South


Buses are available at South Square: 343, 529, 652, 665, Te 5, Te 8 (inner fast line), Te17, Night line 15, Night line 24; At North Square: 20, 84, 102, 106, 381, 458, 485, Night line 17.

 

Subway line 4 connects the Beijing South Station and the Summer Palace, Zoo, Xidan, and other famous tourist attractions and business street. Metro Line 14 is bound for the Yongdingmeng Gate, Fangzhuang, Wangjing etc.

 

Airport Shuttle Buses operate from 9:00 to 21:30, departing every 30 minutes or when fully seated.

 

Taxi service is convenient at standardized fare. It is advisable to prepare notes in Chinese as almost of taxi driver cannot understand English or limited to “hello” and “bye”.

G trains going to Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Jinan, Hefei, Nanchang, Dalian, Shenyang, Harbin, Jiling, Dandong, Qingdao, Yantai, Rongcheng, Xuzhou, Liu' an, An'qing, Huangshan, Langfang, Ningbo, Wenzhou, and Xiamen.
