Guilin to Xingan Bus

Xingan(兴安) is one of the 12 county-level cities of Guilin. The best-known tourist spot in the city is Ling Canal, one of the earliest canals in the world, built in 212 BC by the first Emperor of Qin. Beyond that, the Merryland Theme Park, resorts at the Mao’er Mountain are also big draw for travelers. If you are planning a deep visit in Guilin area, don’t miss the sights in Xing’an.

Being at the strategic point between two mountain ranges, Xingan is a gateway from the north of China to Guilin and the whole region of Guangxi province. It enjoys the convenience of high-speed railway with 20 minutes train ride from Guilin, and 2 hours from Changsha, capital city of the neighboring province.

However, buses are still the most common form of public transport for travelling between Guilin and Xingan. There are two stations operating frequent buses. The Guilin North Station has air-conditioned (1- hour ride) and non-air-conditioned buses (1.5-hour ride), departing from early morning till night around 21:00. Merryland operates 12 pairs of buses per day to serve for locals and travelers. The station is at the parking lot of Xiangjiang Hotel, 5-minute walk from Guilin Railway Station, right in the center of Guilin. Locals can purchase online or on site. But the e-ticket system doesn’t support booking for passport holders by early 2021. Check with us if you are planning a visit to Xingan.
