Dafen Oil Painting Village, located in Buji Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen, is a distinctive cultural village that integrates oil painting creation, production, sales, and tourism. Established in 1989, Dafen has grown into a renowned oil painting industry hub and cultural tourism destination, often referred to as "China's First Oil Painting Village."

Covering an area of approximately 4 square kilometers, Dafen Oil Painting Village is home to over 600 galleries and more than 10,000 artists. In addition to oil paintings, the village also hosts other art forms, such as traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, sculpture, embroidery, lacquer art, and blue-and-white porcelain. Walking through the village feels like stepping into a colorful artistic world, with streets lined with galleries, studios, art museums, and creative workshops, creating a strong and vibrant artistic atmosphere.

Dafen Oil Painting Village Travel Tips

Oil Painting Experience: Prices range from 30-50 RMB per painting, with an additional 10 RMB for framing. It takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete.

Ceramics Experience: Suitable for children, participants can make pottery, and the process takes about 30 minutes.

1. Huangjiang Oil Painting Art Plaza:      Located in Huangjiang, the pioneer of Dafen Oil Painting Village, who led      over 20 artists to develop oil painting in Dafen in 1989. On the second      floor is the TNT Contemporary Art Space (10:00-19:00, closed on Mondays),      frequently hosting artist exhibitions.

2. Dafen Art Museum: (9:30-17:30,      closed on Mondays) Exhibiting a collection of domestic and international      oil paintings, as well as other exhibitions like traditional Chinese      painting and printmaking.

3. Dafen International Art Tribe:      (9:30-12:00, 13:30-18:30)
