Xiling Snow Mountain, located in Dayi County, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is about 95 kilometers from downtown Chengdu. It is a famous alpine ski resort and an all-season ecological tourism destination in western Sichuan. The main peak, Daxuetang, has an elevation of 5,364 meters and is snow-capped year-round, earning it the title "First Peak of Shu."

In winter (from December to February), Xiling Snow Mountain is covered in pristine white snow, creating a beautiful winter wonderland, making it an ideal destination for skiing enthusiasts. The ski resort offers a variety of slopes, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails, along with a professional team of instructors, ensuring that both beginners and experts can find suitable areas for skiing.

In summer (from June to August), the mountain is lush and green, with fresh air, making it perfect for hiking, camping, and escaping the summer heat. A must-see spot is Riyueping, located at an altitude of 2,400 meters, offering stunning views of the sea of clouds, sunrise, and starry skies. Yin-Yang Jie is a unique ridge where one side has clear blue skies, while the other is shrouded in mist, creating a dramatic and breathtaking view.

After touring Xiling Snow Mountain, you can also unwind by soaking in the hot springs at Huashuiwan Hot Springs, providing the perfect way to relax and rejuvenate.

Bus: Direct buses are available from Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station / Chadianzi Bus Station. The departure times are early, so make sure to plan your time accordingly.

Shuttle Bus: Departing from Exit C of Jinsha Site Museum Metro Station, with the outbound bus leaving at 7:30 AM and the return bus at 4:30 PM (may vary without prior notice)

Private Car: Perfect for family trips, offering a flexible itinerary! Convenient and stress-free.

Xiling Snow Mountain Accommodation

Staying in Dayi County Town:
Cheaper options than the scenic area, but 1.5 hours away. Early risers needed to avoid traffic in peak season.

Staying in Huashuiwan Hot Spring Resort:
A developed hot spring town with various accommodations and activities. 30 minutes to Xiling Snow Mountain, requires early departure and shared/private transport. Traffic may be heavy in peak season.

Staying in Xiling Town:
20 minutes to the scenic area entrance. Cheaper than staying in the scenic area, but limited public transport. Carpool or private car needed.

Staying at the Foot of Xiling Snow Mountain:
Next to the scenic area entrance, cheaper than scenic area hotels. Free snow play in winter, but limited accommodation options (budget hotels and farmhouses). Prices start at 400 RMB in peak season.

Staying Inside the Scenic Area:
At Half-Mountain Yingxue Square, convenient for night skiing and sunrise views. More expensive, with rooms over 1000 RMB in peak season.
