Since May 1st, 2019, Guangdong Province implemented a remarkable 144-hour visa-free transit policy for foreign nationals. Citizens from 53 countries with valid travel documents and confirmed onward tickets can enter through Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an Airport, or Jieyang Chaoshan Airport. They can then depart from any of the 32 qualified ports in Guangdong Province. This policy offers flexibility for business trips to Guangdong and sightseeing in cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Qualified Ports in Guangdong
There are a total of 32 qualified ports in Guangdong. Out of these, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Shenzhen Baoan International Airport, and Jieyang International Airport Airport serve as both entry and exit ports. The remaining 29 ports solely serve as exit ports.

How to make use of 144-hour visa-free transit in Guangdong
Check your eligibility: Ensure that you hold a valid passport from one of the 53 eligible countries and have confirmed onward travel tickets to a third country or region (e.g, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan). Plan your itinerary: Determine your travel plans (recommended routes is listed below) and make sure your transit period in Guangdong does not exceed 144 hours (6 days).
Choose an entry port: Select one of the qualified entry ports (Baiyun International Airport, Shenzhen Baoan International Airport, or Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport) for the visa-free transit. You can exit from any of the 32 qualified ports.
Arrival and immigration procedures: Upon arrival at the chosen entry port, proceed to the immigration counter for visa-free transit. Present your valid passport, confirmed onward travel tickets, and complete any required immigration forms.
Stay within the permitted area: You must remain within the authorized area of the province and are not allowed to travel to other regions of China.
Departure from Guangdong: Before the end of the 144-hour period, you must leave Guangdong through one of the qualified exit ports. These include airports, railway stations, road ports, and water ports.
