2. Interesting activities include cleaning panda enclosures, recording their behavior and weight, attending panda rescue exhibition, participation in preparing food, etc.
3. You will get a Panda Keeper Certificate when work ends.
Guide will pick you up early in the morning and ensure to get there before 9:00am. On arrival, meet professional panda keeper and other fellow volunteers. Before the work starts, a short explanation session will be given to outline the itinerary and deliver precautions, how to care for pandas. To keep sanitation, you will dress volunteer clothing.
Panda Keeper Program starts from being a keeper to clean indoor and outdoor panda enclosures, record their behavior and weight for about two hours. Other activities include attending panda rescue exhibition, participation in preparing fruit, vegetables and special panda cakes and feeding them; watching documentary movie about pandas, joining in panda class to learn scientific knowledge, etc. You will get a Panda Keeper Certificate when work ends.
Detailed Itinerary:
8:30 AM: Assembly at the base entrance, guided to the Science Education Center.
8:30-9:00 AM: Registration.
9:00-10:00 AM: Cleaning Panda Enclosures with guidance from educators and keepers.
10:00-11:00 AM: Behavioral Observation of giant pandas.
11:00-11:30 AM: Training and Learning about panda behavior during feeding.
11:30 AM-1:00 PM: Lunch + Rest at the staff canteen and Science Education Center.
1:00-2:00 PM: Giant Panda Documentary to learn about conservation efforts and research.
2:00-2:30 PM: Food Preparation of special meals for giant pandas.
2:30-3:00 PM: Training and Learning by feeding the pandas and understanding their care.
3:00-3:30 PM: Making Wǒwotou, a traditional Chinese steamed cornbread, and learning its recipe.
Afterwards, guide will take you back to hotel around 6:00pm.
Tips: Hugging a Panda for pictures is not included in the program. But it is ok as a thank you if you make an extra donation (CNY 1,800 per person) to protect Pandas. The availability is not guaranteed.

After the trip has commenced, we are unable to refund any amount for unused services due to your willingness, early departure, late arrival, or missed days on tours.
