When all our six members gathered, we will begin the visit from Tiananmen Square (8:00am -08:30am) – one of the largest city squares in the world. From here, walk north to the Forbidden City (8:30am -11:30am), the world’s largest imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty.
Lunch will be arranged at local restaurant to taste Beijing Food.
Head east north to Mutianyu Great Wall and arrive around 1:30pm. This section of the wall ranks number one among all the sections on TripAdvisor list with beautiful-restored architecture but less tourists. We up and down the Great Wall with cable to make most of the 2.5 hours visiting time.
Start our return journey at 4:00pm and deliver all you back to hotel.
Scheduled pick up time is from 7:30am to 8:00am depending on your hotel location. When all our members meet, we move to Jingshan Park to have a bird view of the Forbidden City and many other historic sites symmetrically built along the both sides of central axis including the bell and drum tower. Around 8:40am, drive 50 minutes to the northwest of Beijing city for a deep exploration of Summer Palace. It is the best-preserved imperial garden in the world and the largest of its kind in existence of China. The garden is like an art gallery with over 3000 man-made pavilions, palaces, temples, bridges and corridors. We will have approx. 1.5 hours to spend in the garden before lunch.
In the afternoon, continue our visit to the Temple of Heaven(1:00pm-2:30pm) which is a complex of religious building built in 1420 for the emperors to make sacrificial ceremonies and praying for harvests. The Altar, Echo Wall, and Imperial Vault are very spectacular. Afterwards, spend some time at Qianmen street that was the imperial road to the Temple of Heaven. The street was rebuilt into a business road, but still very attractive with many 100-year old shops.
