Suggested Route: You can get a close-up view of the Giant Buddha by hiking around the mountain, while taking a boat cruise on the river provides a panoramic view of the entire statue.   The hiking trail is perfect for those who have plenty of time and robust physical stamina, whereas the boat cruise is more suited for those with limited time for sightseeing.

Enter from North Gate北门入口→Su Dongpo's "佛" Character Stone Inscription苏东坡“佛”字石刻→Mountain Gate山门→ 凌云寺Lingyun Temple→Head of the Buddha佛首→The confluence of three rivers三江汇流处→Lingyun Plank Path凌云栈道→The platform at the feet of the Buddha overlooking the river佛脚平台江面→灵宝塔Lingbao Pogoda→Moruo House沫若堂→Exit from East Gate东门出口

Boat Cruise: Board from/ Disembark at Wuyou Wharf(乌尤码头),the cruise lasts about 30-40 minutes, will stop in front of the Giant Buddha in 5 minutes for photograph.

Photography recommendations:

The front side of the Giant Buddha, the foot part of the Giant Buddha and the confluence of three rivers (Minjiang River, Dadu River and Qingyi River).

Useful Tips:

1.     Elderly aged 65 and above, and children under 6 years old and under 1.2 meters in height, are eligible for free entry.

2.     Please take care that the plank pathways there are steep and narrow.

3.     Due to the boats accommodating up to 35 passengers, there might be a queue/waiting line.

4.     The Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area is classified as a forest fire prevention zone. It is strictly prohibited to bring any source of fire into the area. Smoking and any other activities involving fire are strictly forbidden once inside the area.

5.     Please stay alert to weather changes and prioritize safety during your visit to the scenic area.

6.     Children under 1.2 meters in height must collect complimentary admission tickets at the on-site ticket window.

7.     In the event of temporary suspension of boat services due to heavy rain, dense fog, or other unforeseen circumstances as notified by the maritime authorities, ticket holders can proceed to the ticket window for refunds. Specific details are subject to public announcements.

8.     Please refrain from bringing pets into the scenic area and boarding the boats.
