Leshan Trips and Travel Ideas

Leshan is one of the most-visited destinations in Sichuan, only second to Chengdu. The most famous attractions are Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emei. The 71-meter Buddha curved on the cliffside sits on the confluences of three rivers. Visitors can have a close view of the Buddha down from narrow paths next to the Buddha or taking cruise to see it in distance. 30-minute drive away is Emei Mountain which is one of the four sacred mountains in China. It takes a full day to enjoy the essentials or stay one night on the mountain for sunrise. With 150km south of Chengdu, Leshan city offers many transport choices to get in and out. There are bullet trains and frequent buses from center of Chengdu and Chengdu Shuangliu Airport. And the Leshan airport is under construction as well.
